Do you use water or alcohol to make the radial chromatography designs
from the black markers?

Hi Carrie,
We've used both. The alcohol works well with Sharpie markers
and other permanent pens. My all-time favorite is water with
"Mr. Sketch" black scented markers. What grade do you teach?
Send us pictures of you and your students working with chromatography and I'll include them in Thinking Fountain.
